Evie
Evie is a personal AI agent built on the Evie Platform, a hardened distribution of OpenClaw built for superpowered personal AI agents. Spantree, LLC (a Trifork company) builds and maintains it.
OpenClaw is the engine: an always-on gateway daemon that routes messages across channels, runs modular skills, and manages sub-agents. The Evie Platform is the car. It adds:
Ego. Identity governance, behavioral policy, and sub-agent orchestration through SOUL.md. This is what gives an agent a consistent personality and decision-making style across contexts.
Five Layer Memory. Episodic, identity, topical, procedural, and artifact memory. Replaces basic file-based recall with structured patterns that persist across sessions and degrade gracefully.
Trust and Security. Progressive autonomy and agent-blind credential injection. The agent earns trust over time; credentials are injected without the agent ever seeing the raw secret.
Multi-Model Orchestration. Model-agnostic routing between Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and local models. If one provider goes down or raises prices, the agent switches without changing behavior.
What Evie Does
Evie runs as a persistent agent on Apple Silicon hardware inside Spantree's infrastructure. She connects to internal tools and external services through authenticated API integrations, each one implemented as a self-contained skill module.
Financial operations. Invoice management, P&L reports, AR/AP aging, and interdepartmental billing through QuickBooks Online.
Engineering. Issue tracking, code review, CI/CD orchestration, and coding agent dispatch. She coordinates Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and Codex sessions through bidirectional tmux communication.
Research and knowledge. Deep research via Exa, contact enrichment, and semantic search across a structured knowledge base backed by Postgres.
Communication. Multi-channel messaging across Slack, Discord, email, and SMS with context-aware response policies. She knows when to speak and when to stay quiet.
Workflow automation. Multi-step business processes, calendar management, task tracking, and proactive check-ins.
Architecture
Evie runs on dedicated Mac minis connected via Tailscale.
Runtime. The OpenClaw Gateway daemon handles message routing, skill execution, and session management.
Data. PostgreSQL (Supabase) stores meeting transcripts, Slack messages, knowledge base entries, and structured memory.
Skills. Each integration is a self-contained Bun/TypeScript module with its own CLI, configuration, and credential management.
Sub-Agents. Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and Codex sessions run in isolated tmux panes with bidirectional communication for coding tasks.
Channels. Slack, Discord, Telegram, Signal, and WhatsApp all route through the Gateway.
Infrastructure. macOS on Apple Silicon hardware, networked via Tailscale mesh. All data stays on Spantree's hardware. Nothing leaves the box unless explicitly configured to do so.
